Navigation
The approach from the North Sea via the Thyborøn Channel can be
made in almost any weather. However, one must expect heavy swell,
especially with onshore winds. In such cases, it is imperative to
approach the outer channel via the leading light at 85°, as heavy
ground seas occur on the barre in the northern part.
See also Note-POI.
From the south, coming from the Limfjord, a buoyed and lighted channel with a target depth of 4m leads to Thyborøn
Berths
Guest berths are in the "Nordre Inderhavn".The berth is very protected, but in strong westerly winds, because of the nearby beach , also very sandy.
All other parts of the harbor are closed to pleasure craft.
Surroundings
The life of the city and the port is determined by fishing. However, one finds here self-understanding but also very good supply possibilities.
Very good bathing beaches are directly north of the harbor basin.
