Description

At the entrance from the Adriatic Sea to the medieval town of Butrint lies one of the fortresses of Ali Pasha (1740 - 1822) - was an Ottoman Albanian ruler who served as Pasha to the Ottoman Empire. His court was located in Ioannina , and the territory he ruled included most of Epirus and the western parts of Thessaly and Greek Macedonia.
